Sunday Evening Discipleship for All Ages

Every Sunday beginning on September 11, 2022

Didn’t get enough at church on Sunday morning? Come back and feed again! At Sunday Evening Discipleship our goal at Trinity Baptist Church of Katy is to encourage one another as we learn to be like Jesus. Join us in a time of fellowship and in-depth study to end the weekend on a good note.

Childcare

Birth – 3 years

Childcare at Trinity is offered to support opportunities for the grownups. It gives the adults the opportunity to join events and programs at church. With our child care, you can enjoy your own program knowing that your kids are cared for in a Bible based setting. Trinity offers free childcare for early childhood children through Pre-K during Sunday Evening Discipleship. Our trained childcare professionals spend time with your baby or toddler. They play with toys, sing about Jesus, and make age-appropriate crafts. Childcare is only for adults who are attending Sunday Evening Discipleship class in the building.

Big Believers

Age 4 – Kindergarten

Big Believers is a fun time of discipleship through music and play on Sunday evenings for our kids in Preschool and Kindergarten. Each week we enjoy learning about God together. We have Bible lessons, read books, play games, and dance & sing songs. We love music and movement! The kids’ favorite thing is always time on the playground! (If weather permits.)

The Journey

Grades 1-6

Children who come back after Sunday mornings for Sunday evening classes at 4:30 pm learn to worship. They also learn spiritual growth skills that help them well beyond their grade-school years. Our fast-paced program involves learning games and activities, scripture memory work with challenges and rewards, exposure to missionaries working around the world, and Kid’s Choir time. We have a lot of crazy theme nights just for fun.

Our current study in The Journey is “Mission Possible,” where agents are trained, prepared, and equipped to never give up on the mission to share Jesus. We will learn the Great C’s (Commandments and Commission) and that we have success on the mission when we follow God’s plan. We will also have fun surprise guests.

Team EPIC (Expressive Praise Instruments for Christ)

Grades 5-6

Our 5th & 6th graders can join Team E.P.I.C. This team is the “up front” leaders in kid’s worship during Journey on Sunday Evenings with song, dance, and scripture. Their goals are to serve the Lord, to be Godly examples to the younger children, to lead others in worship, and to grow as leaders. This is for children who are ready to be an example for others through their own personal walk with Christ. Please contact Valerie if your child might be interested in joining Team EPIC.

TBSM (Trinity Baptist Student Ministry)

Grades 7-12

During TBSM Sunday evening studies we dive past the surface level. We tackle hard topics that students face in their daily life and give them a chance to discuss how it relates to their Christian faith. After a quick time of fellowship together, students break up into guys and girls small groups led by our student ministry leaders.

Our guys group is working through tough questions with a focus of faith. This group provides a time for our guys to discuss and share stories of hard questions they have encountered. Our discussions base around curriculum from Sticky Faith. Sticky Faith is a focus from Fuller Youth Institute on creating a faith that sticks in teenagers.

Our girls group comes together to study Defined by Priscilla Shirer. “You are a miracle. And that’s exactly what this study is about—your true identity. Who you really are. The culture will try to define you, your past may try to label you, the enemy will seek to deceive you, but no one has the authority to give you your name—your identity—except your Father. And He says that your uniqueness is an expression of His creative genius and is designed to reflect His glory.”

Adult Bible Studies

Trinity Baptist Church offers Bible studies on Sunday evenings to adults of all ages. Come as you are, all are welcome!

Cold Case Christianity: Reasons for Faith

Named after the Jews from Berea who received the word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily. We love to take a deep dive into scripture to glean every kernel of God’d truth.

Cold Case Christianity is a study by L.A. County homicide detective J. Warner Wallace. Class led by Trinity Baptist Church of Katy member and Bible study teacher Steve Hartzell.

Olivet Discourse

The Olivet Discourse is the name given to the orderly and extended teaching given by Jesus Christ on the Mount of Olives. His subject is the end times. This discourse is recorded in Matthew 24:1 – 25:46. Parallel passages are found in Mark 13:1-37 and Luke 21:5-36.

This class will be prepared and led by Trinity Baptist Church member and Bible teacher Dan Beckley.

DTR (Discipleship Training Relationship)

Discipleship Training Relationship is a chance to grow in your faith with the help of a mentor. Join this hands-on class as we learn the importance of relationships among the church in our Christian faith.

This class is developed and led by Trinity Baptist Church member Joseph Kim. DTR has limited space; please sign-up in the church lobby.

The heart of DTR is having a spiritual coach walking side-by-side with you in the journey to spiritual maturity. the DTR is designed to encourage students in personal character development by cultivating a living relationship with God and identifying their unique individual gifts and callings in God. This is accomplished through a disciplined lifestyle, biblical relationship, systematic biblical lesson, and preparation to fulfill the Great Commission “into all the world and make disciples of all the nations” (Matt. 28:18-20).
